Needless to say, yesterday was an emotionally charged day for everyone. From sleepiness to excitement and confidence to confusion, we all experienced some form or level of emotions; most importantly, of which warmed my heart, were pride and love. Even though the kids worked hard and yet did not win the tournament, they truly did win. From beginning to end, each performer showed tremendous growth, not only as performers but as young adults. This was evident to those involved from the very beginning of the season.
In the end, the kids were proud of themselves and in great spirits. They were proud of the work they had put in. They were proud of their performance. They were proud to be SkyHawks. There is a lesson for us all here. For me, along with pride, I learned the amount of love the kids had for one another. Tears of joy and sadness overwhelmed most of the kids as they honored the seniors graduating later this school year. These are the things which bring happiness to those involved in the program.
Thank you, SkyHawks, for a great season and allowing us all to be a part of this memorable experience. We appreciate you and look forward to next season. Good Skill SkyHawks!
